What Are We Up To?
In 2023, we retuned to the Bandafassi area to meet with local leaders including the new Minister of Health Medical Director of the Region of Kedougou. We are excited to keep these collaborations active in order to best support the local population. With a newfound collaboration, we will recharge evidence based programs to prevent malaria.
Upcoming Trip
Please Donate to Our Malaria Prevention Project.
After a night of music and dancing, West African children can fall asleep early on oudoor structures at the village parties. Situations like this put them at great risk of contracting a life-threatening case of malaria.
Netlife is a 501(c)(3), non profit organization. We are preparing for our next big anti-malaria project, and we need your help.
In the past, mosquito net distributions were based on the premise that people slept indoors for the whole night. In many villages, this is not true. At the end of the day, many huts are as hot as saunas. Understandably, many local people will hang out outside while their huts cool down. Our research has found that many people end up sleeping on outdoor structures from dusk to midnight, leaving them vulnerable to infectious mosquito bites for nearly half of the night.
Netlife is tackling this problem by finding new ways to sleep outside safely. In 2019, we will be working with Senegalese community leaders and youth groups to develop and implement a program that will provide outdoor sleeping resources and education.
We need your help to buy enough mosquito nets to cover these outdoor sleeping spaces. We have 20 target villages, and it will take 1500 nets to do the job. We need funds to cover the logistics of transport and educational sessions. We also need to have the resources to hire extra Senegalese project managers to ensure the sustainability of this work.
We hope you can donate to our cause. Our goal is to save lives, and your donation can do just that.
